Xbox and PC platformer 'Super Lucky's Tale' gets unexpected tropical expansion
A week ago, Super Lucky'due south Tale developer Playful said that it planned on releasing an expansion or sequel. Unfortunately, the studio didn't brand whatever statements other than a ambiguous post on the game's Twitter account. The game is an adorable platformer which launched on Xbox Ane and PC a few months ago. The title received mixed reviews from critics, then it was unclear if the game would ever receive a sequel or expansion in the future.
Super Lucky's Tale starts off when the antagonist Jinx steals a mysterious artifact called the Book of Ages. The Book of Ages contains entire worlds and simple creatures who are no match Jinx's spoiled children. It's up to Lucky, a cute piddling fox who wants to exist a hero, to relieve the day. Only similar any platformer, you need to run, jump, spin and burrow your way across a wide variety of environments including deserts, castles, forests and much more. The game too runs at native 4K 60 FPS on Xbox Ane 10 and supports Xbox Play Anywhere.
Today, an expansion for Super Lucky's Tale called "Gilly Island" appeared on the Microsoft Shop for $4.99.
Fresh from his victory over Jinx, Lucky is looking forward to a twenty-four hour period off but the Book of Ages has other plans. Lucky is over again sucked in, this time emerging in a tropical paradise known as Gilly Island. Despite its beauty, it's quickly apparent that something strange is happening on Gilly Island. Lucky learns that singer Lady Meowmalade has hijacked the island to throw the greatest party ever seen as she celebrates the release of her latest single. Now, Lucky must rescue the isle and its vacationers from Meowmalade's chaos before it ruins their fun and ultimately wrecks havoc to all the worlds within the Book of Ages.
The expansion contains something for new and returning players because information technology's filled with archetype platforming challenges, heed-angle puzzles, mysterious foxholes, and treacherous obstruction courses. You also meet many new and old characters as you burrow your mode across levels.
In our review, we said that Super Lucky'due south Tale'due south "adorable nature, strange characters, and quirky dialogues make you fall in honey with the game even though the camera controls are a bit off.
